Concept
Vision
We aim to reconnect with the aesthetic sensibilities and creative spirit that once flourished alongside the soy sauce culture in Noda, by reconstructing them with a modern perspective and passing them on to the future.
Mission
We envision the entire town as a single gallery, showcasing art exhibitions, film screenings, and talk events in cultural facilities, historic buildings, and traditional merchant architecture. This creates a vibrant setting for a wide audience to engage with the world of design and architecture.
Exploring Noda
Noda City, located in the northwestern part of Chiba Prefecture, is a nature-rich area nestled between the Tone River and the Edo River.
Since the Edo period, it has been known as a town for soy sauce brewing, and alongside the development of waterways, it has nurtured its own unique culture.
The architecture, gardens, festivals, and lifestyle culture that remain in the area are infused with the craftsmanship and wisdom of harmony with nature.
The Noda Art Festival is an endeavor to connect the heritage of this town to new creations.
The Festival
Message
“I want to reconnect the 'creative power' inherited in the land of Noda with the sensibilities of the current era.
I believe that hints for future beauty can be found precisely within old buildings and landscapes.”
— Masato Kawai
(Director of BUNDLESTUDIO / Noda Art Festival Director)
Visual Identity
The key visual of the Noda Art Festival adopts an image that collages motifs associated with Noda, including the exterior of the "Mogi Art Museum".
This symbolizes the festival's worldview, which layers historical buildings, nature, and modern sensibilities, perceiving the entire town as a single art piece.
